Frederick Web Promotions offers Personalized Custom Solutions to the marketing of your website.

Traditional Advertising seeks to sell you what they have, not tailor it to your needs.

“If the only tool in your toolbox was a hammer, all of your problems would tend to look like nails from your perspective”

Customers are Changing… Google has offered them choices, if you don’t change with them all your likely to do with “advertising” is piss them off.

Consider this: Do you fast forward through advertisements with your remote when given a choice?... don’t you think your prospective customers do the same? (again when given a choice?)

Have you become numb to website banner ads? Aren’t your prospective customers just like you?

Announcing the Death of Push Advertising:

News Flash: Almost NO ONE buys without going to Google to check out reviews and view options, options like “delivery”, “return policy”, “can I return this at a local store or do I gotta snail mail it back?”, “is there an online coupon code that will give me a discount”…

Look, when you “PUSH” your ad on someone… it doesn’t make em want to buy, it actually pisses them off.

When they’re ready to buy: They fire up their computer, go to http://www.google.com and do their research… at this point THEY ARE READY TO BUY

(I know, all caps is shouting, but if you want to stay in business you’ve got to hear this)

They are NOT READY TO BUY unless and until they’ve go to Google to scope things out.

People who are ready to buy, have their credit card handy but first…

they’ve got to check and see if there are any complaints about “company X”, or reviews about “Product Y”, or lawsuits about “company Z”

Don’t take my word for this… see for yourself here:
Why Advertising Fails.

  1. Consumers do not trust advertising
  2. Consumers do not want to view advertising
  3. Consumers do not need advertising

The Ages Old Model of Pushing an ad on someone when they’re looking for something else no longer produces sales… it simply pisses people off.

So what we do if we need to sell something?

Move the Battlefield

Leonidas did not take on the Persians on their preferred battlefield.

He chose the battlefield, he purposefully selected the Pass at Thermopylae

Why? because he brought his strengths to bear and minimized the enemies strengths. By doing so he maximized his advantage.

We need to move the battlefield away from our prospective clients living rooms and move it to Google (because they’re in a buying mood, they’ve even got their credit card handy!!!)

You need your company to show up IN GOOGLE as many places as you possibly can:

  1. In the top 10 “organic” search results page
  2. In the top 7 Googlemaps listings
  3. In the sponsored links (aka Google Adwords

News Flash #2:

People KNOW sponsored links are ones you bought and paid for, they’re not “trusted” in the same way Organic or Googlemaps listings are trusted.

If you’re a psychotherapist, you’re in denial if you think people are likely to trust a paid sponsor ad over what they perceive to be a “selected by Google” natural or organic listing.

Now if your product or service is in the B2B (business to business) sector, paid or sponsored links are probably going to do you some good: Rule of thumb we suggest is “If your target demographic is a company that also pays for ads, they’re not going to look down on you for doing the same… matter of fact they’re more likely to look down on you for NOT advertising (NLP tenet: people like people who are like them)

If you a small business person and you want to stay in business in this decade, you NEED to either become a webmaster or hire one… and that’s not the end of it: a webmaster can “create a blog”, “update a blog”, “fix your blog” but… they typically can NOT get that blog (or website) to rank in Google where you need it to rank.

Ranking is a subset of a subset, it’s a different skill.

What Does Frederick Web Promotions do for your company?

We get it to rank… after we “occupy the Google Real Estate” you need to occupy, then you hire a web designer to edit the page to make it “pretty for humans”, but check with us at each and every edit so they don’t accidentally make the site Google Unfriendly. (They do that often, forgive them for they know not what they do)
